Ele for damage (quick damage) Necro for damage over time or gimping the mobs speed and armor class.

I run a Ranger/Necro with death magic, it's fun to have more pets for me. But, that's just my preference.

Monk can do good smiting damage, Ele can spike nicely, both can add damage to your arrows with certain skills, making for some fun.

Mesmer can do a lot of damage while interupting (i use a R/Me for solo farming) and good against casters.

Warrior may be a fun one to try, energy gaining stances such as Bonetti's (every time you evade you get +5 energy) which would be nice with traps, plus an elite that gives you energy and adrenaline if your pet hits.

And as already said, you could go R/N (I go N/R) to ge ta small army going with one part of that army controllable (pet)

i would say full ranger.. rangers are best on main profession no need for second...seeing all ranger skill on expertise..and others would zap ya energy.
i would say the funnest build you can make.. is the one you think would be fun to play with.

I agree with fiery for the most part, so I default to monk as my secondary so I can add "Rebirth" instead of res sig when partying with others, and the added bonus of "Purge Conditions" which uses no attributes from the monk prof, with all the benifits of getting rid of "Cripple" when I'm running from one place to another, "Blind" when I'm not trapping and other conditions that would otherwise make me have to spam "Troll Ungent" repeatedly. If you run or trap, I'd go with Monk.

I'd say a full ranger is good. You can really become an all rounder. Im a R/Mo most of the time, purely for re-birth. But Judge insight + barrage is very good against undead.

Thats what my guildies told me when I started my Ranger. I picked mesmer secondary to do traps and such.

But I always use full ranger, same thing with my mesmer. These days I run a full mesmer builds.

Add another vote for full ranger. My guy is a R/N, but I've found I never use the necro skills - I need all the slots and all the points in the ranger line of skills!

Just get a Monk for secondary, I believe it adds a pip of mana regeneration.

Agreed. Monk secondary for a "hard" resurrection skill in PvE is incredibly useful. I use a mostly "pure" ranger, save for the Rebirth skill.

What good is anything else if your party is totally dead during a mission and you've already used your signet? :|

You could go ranger necro and make a touch ranger which in a pvp environment can be very dangerous. Ranger expertise affects the necro touch skills, so you can pretty much spam vamp touch and touch of agony on your target. Vamp touch pretty much negates the sacrifice for touch of agony and between the two, cycle every 3 seconds. Not many other class combos can repeatedly do around 115 dmg every 3 seconds (blood at 12)
